PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out jointing of an element substrate and a sealing substrate sealing and housing an organic EL element of an organic EL device, simply, with accuracy and in high quality. SOLUTION: The element substrate 11 of the organic EL device 10 has a sodium silicate film 18 formed on its outer periphery part, through which 18, the element substrate 11 and the sealing substrate 17 are anode-bonded. By the element substrate 11 and the sealing substrate 17, the organic EL element with a first electrode 12, an organic EL layer 14 and a second electrode 15 laminated on the element substrate 11 is sealed. Here, the first electrode 12 is connected to a first electrode-extracting terminal 13 provided in insertion coupling at a desired area of the element substrate 11, and likewise, the second electrode 15 is connected to a second electrode-extracting terminal 16 provided in insertion coupling at a desired area of the element substrate 11, to be electrically extracted outside.
