The method involves storing data about a utilization period of vehicles in a centre station. The vehicles within a region of a rent park are identified using a sensor system, and movements of the vehicle are reported and stored at the center station. The movements of the vehicle are compared with the data about the utilization period of the vehicles. The movements of the vehicles are determined by a motion detector. The sensor system for identifying the vehicles is activated by detecting the vehicle movements. An independent claim is also included for a device for executing a method for administrating and protecting a vehicle in a rent parking.
