An optical fiber strain gauge is provided to offer an advantage of a gauge carrier having easy installation and handling without lowering the performance of the gauge by having an optical fiber strain sensor with more than one FBG(Fiber Bragg Grating). An optical fiber strain gauge(100) includes a gauge carrier(200), an optical fiber(102), and a buffer tube(104). The buffer tube protects the optical fiber and a Bragg grating(103) of the optical fiber. The optical fiber is maintained inside of the gauge carrier and is attached on first and second fiber connection elements(202a,202b). The gauge carrier includes a supporting bar(201), the first and second fiber connection elements, a first installation surface(203a), a second installation surface(203b), and an elastic area(204). The gauge carrier selectively has a strain relief element(205a) to protect the optical fiber when the optical fiber is slid into the gauge carrier.
