<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guided vehicle system with efficiency of carrying articles improved by arranging the appropriate number of guided vehicles in each area, even if articles which are difficult to be reflected in a production schedule need be carried. <P>SOLUTION: A guided vehicle system 1 is provided with: a guided vehicle 10 for carrying articles; and a travel route 2 which is connected with a plurality of closed loop tracks 21, 22 so that the guided vehicle 10 can move on or move off freely, and divided into a plurality of bays 3, 3 .... The set number P of the guided vehicles 10, which is the minimum number of the guided vehicles 10 required in each of the bays 3 is set. When the number of the guided vehicles 10 in the bay 3 is smaller than the set number P of the guided vehicles, a guided vehicle 10 is moved from another bay 3 to this bay 3.
