PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a substantially symmetrical packing is mounted as it is even if slightly inverted upside down or left to right (erroneously mounted) within the small range of lengthwise or widthwise elastic distortion. SOLUTION: The upper half part 30a<SB>1</SB>of the packing is formed larger than the lower half part 30a<SB>2</SB>. Therefore, the packing body 30a of the packing is vertically asymmetrical to the widthwise center line O<SB>1</SB>of a flange 30b. In addition, a projection 30c extends outward from the flange 30b apart from the center lines X and Y. Since the shape of the packing 30 is vertically asymmetrical, the packing 30 cannot be attached upside down. Since the projection 30 extends outward from the projection 30b, erroneous mounting of the packing can easily be determined by the projection 30c exposed outward. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
