PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear driver for an acoustic transducer under conditions that a compact and revolutionary/unconventional design is asked for a speaker part of an information/acoustic apparatus or the like. SOLUTION: A thin and long planar drive plate is inserted along a magnetic flux space where a pair of rod magnets of different polarities are opposed to each other in a form of a parallel plane at a prescribed gap. Conduction circuits where a current flows unidirectionally in the length direction are established on the drive plate so as to be perpendicular to the magnetic flux formed by the pair of rod magnets. When two pairs of rod magnets form magnetic flux spaces with directions of magnetic fluxes different from each other at an upper part and a lower part of a gap on one and same plane, a drive plate where spiral conduction circuits through which currents are circulated in different directions are established at the upper and lower parts in the length direction is inserted. A hard board or the like directly formed with the conduction circuits is used for the drive plate. Current flowing through the circuits of the drive plate vertically vibrates the drive plate in its header direction to thereby attain a linear drive speaker or a driver for vibrating a diaphragm or a housing component or the like of an information/acoustic apparatus orthogonally joined with the drive plate.
