PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a composition containing hydrophilic microparticles capable of being stably distributed in a mixed material that has low hydrophilicity without undergoing aggregation. SOLUTION: The method for producing a microparticle-containing composition comprises the steps of preparing a water slurry through distribution of micromarticles in water, adding an aqueous organic solvent with a boiling point higher than that of water and a mixed material that is an organic compound with a boiling point higher than that of the aqueous organic solvent to the water slurry, and then adding a silane coupling agent that reforms the microparticle surfaces to the water slurry. The microparticle-containing composition can be prepared without causing aggregation by gradually varying the medium to be used for dispersion of microparticles so as to have lower hydrophilicity in the order of lowest to highest boiling points of media, and by causing the silane coupling agent that reforms the surface property of the microparticles to act. This method enables gradual substitution of water with the aqueous organic solvent and dispersion of microparticles in the mixed material without causing aggregation. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
