PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating method in which a preheating step after a coating step can be omitted in the case of applying a water-based coating liquid. SOLUTION: This invention relates to the coating method for applying the water-based coating material to the object to be coated by using a rotary atomization type coating apparatus, wherein coating is performed by rotating a bell cup of the rotary atomization type coating apparatus at such a circumferential speed that the coating solid content of the water-based coating material becomes a predetermined value or more.
