PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steam discharge unit capable of preventing a storage position from being restrained even for a tall electric heat insulation pot, surely discharging steam even when an electric heat insulation pot and a rice cooker or the like are housed near the center part of the storage shelf and realizing a storage shelf with the steam discharge unit of excellent handleability without the restriction of the storage position. SOLUTION: The steam discharge unit comprises a duct 8 provided inside a unit main body 2 and communicating with steam suction ports 3A and 3B and a steam discharge port 4, and a blower 10. A recessed space part 5 is provided over the almost entire area of the unit body 2, and planar steam distributors 7A and 7B are incorporated in the recessed space part 5 so as to form a space S facing a plurality of suction ports 8a and 8b provided on the duct 8.
