The device has a force unit (11) for generating a locking pressure that acts on a tool (1). A semi-finished product is fillable with a forming liquid for the purpose of forming an internal high pressure of a workpiece, where the semi-finished product is inserted into a tool-piece. The forming liquid is chargeable with the forming pressure. The tool is arranged in a force receiving unit (10) during the internal high pressure forming of the workpiece, where the force receiving unit exhibits a shape that receives the locking pressure in a completely or almost deformation-free manner.
