INTEGRATED LIGHT ISOLATOR

摘要

An easily-producible integrated light isolator having a structure integrating a semiconductor laser and a light isolator integrally in which reverse propagation light of the light isolator is absorbed efficiently and generation of stray light is prevented. In an integrated light isolator where a semiconductor waveguide layer is formed on a compound semiconductor substrate, a semiconductor laser is formed in one part of the semiconductor waveguide layer and a light isolator is formed in the other part, a laser current injection electrode is arranged above the active layer of the semiconductor waveguide layer where the semiconductor laser is formed, and an end absorption layer is arranged at the output end of a reverse propagation light output waveguide of the light isolator on the opposite sides of the semiconductor laser.
