A color converting device and a display device having the same are provided to improve color conversion efficiency by applying different color converting schemes according to the brightness of an input image. A color converting device(100) includes a color conversion memory(110) and a color conversion processor(120). The color conversion memory stores various coefficient information for color conversion according to the brightness level of an input image. The color conversion processor performs color compensation on the input image by referring to coefficient information from the color conversion memory, and outputs a compensated image signal.
