<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the destruction of an apparatus or the occurrence of hot offset due to the temperature rise of a non-feeding part when a sheet of a standard size which is slightly narrower than a maximum carriable size is fed not from a paper feeding standard center but in a state deflected to one side of a pair of paper width regulation guides expanded at maximum in an image forming apparatus whose paper feeding standard is the center. <P>SOLUTION: Two paper width detection sensors 72a, 72b are arranged on right and left equal distance positions from the center standard position, and the width-direction arrangement positions of the paper width detection sensors 72a, 72b and the maximum open widths of paper width regulation guides 55a, 55b are set so that both of the two paper width detection sensors 72a, 72b become paper feeding areas when paper of the standard size is fed through the paper feeding standard center, and when the paper of the standard size is deflected and fed along either one of the paper width regulation guides 55a, 55b expanded at maximum, either one of the two paper width detection sensors 72a, 72b becomes a non-feeding area. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
