<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve appropriate load distribution by causing a second storage control apparatus connected to a first storage control apparatus to execute a specific function when a higher-level device requests the execution of the specific function executable only by the second storage control apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: When receiving an execution request from a host 4, an execution location determining part 1A 2 uses a function managing part 1A 3 and a status detecting part 1A 4 to determine which of the storage control apparatuses 1-3 is selected as a location where the function is to be executed. An execution directing part 1A 5 directs the function determining part 1A1-3A1 of the storage control apparatus determined as an execution location to execute the function. In this way, even if a specific function F2 executable only by the storage control apparatuses 2, 3, the function F2 can be executed.
