PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for detecting a pitch in input voice signals by using a subharmonic-to-harmonic ratio. SOLUTION: The pitch detection method for the input voice signals includes performing a Fourier transform on the input voice signals after performing a pre-processing on the input voice signals, performing an interpolation on the transformed voice signals, calculating a normalized local center of gravity on a spectrum of the interpolated voice signals, calculating a cumulated sum of the calculated normalized local center of gravity, calculating a subharmonic-to-harmonic ratio from the spectrum based on the calculated cumulated sum, and detecting the pitch based on the calculated subharmonic-to-harmonic ratio.
