PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact, symmetrical voice coil motor structure which is useful as a microdrive. SOLUTION: This symmetrical voice coil motor comprises a voice coil motor assembly with a central axis, a bearing assembly which rotates using the central axis as the center, a coil assembly provided radially outside of the bearing assembly with at least one pair of coils and an inside yoke, and a permanent magnet set provided radially outside of the coil assembly with at least one pair of magnets and an outside yoke.
