PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an output power control technology whereby the forward isolation in a standby state of a high frequency power amplifier (power module) can be improved, wherein the high frequency power amplifier controls an output power by making a bias voltage applied to a control terminal of a high frequency power amplifier element constant so as to change an operating voltage (power voltage) in response to a signal for instructing an output level. SOLUTION: In the high frequency power amplifier of two-stage configuration provided with an operating voltage control circuit (220) for controlling an output power by changing an operating voltage (VLDO) of amplifier FETs in response to the signal (Vramp) for instructing the output level, a prescribed bias is given to a gate terminal of the first or second stage amplifier FET before a start signal (Vtxon) is triggered.
