PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a deterioration in the sealability of an elastic sealing material, and further to lengthen the life of a gasket itself. SOLUTION: A metallic gasket has combustion chamber bores 2, etc. opened on a base plate 1, and has beads formed along seal lines. At least a part of the beads is composed of composite beads composed of metal beads 14 formed by folding the base plate 1 and rubber beads composed of elastic seal materials 24a, 24b which are stuck on the projected surfaces of the metal beads 14, and are filled in the recesses arranged on the opposite side of the projected surfaces, and can generate elastic forces together with the metal beads 14. The surfaces of the elastic seal materials 24a, 24b are coated with coating films 26a, 26b having resistance to cooling water and oil. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
