PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change over the combustion modes of a gaseous fuel according to the loading conditions of an internal combustion engine and provide excellent combustion in any combustion mode in the gaseous fuel internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: A first injection valve 50 jetting the gaseous fuel toward an ignition plug 16 and a second injection valve 40 jetting the gaseous fuel while avoiding the ignition plug 16 are disposed in a combustion chamber 10. One or both of the first injection valve 50 and the second injection valve 40 are operated according to the loading conditions of the internal combustion engine. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
