PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor driven compressor having a reduced size and improved reliability. SOLUTION: This compressor is provided with a compression mechanism part 4 and a motor 5 having a stator 5a and a rotor 5b arranged opposing each other in a container 3. The rotor 5b has balance weights 5c, 5d at the axial end. It is fixed into a screw hole formed in the balance weight 5c with a bolt 8 and fixed into a recessed portion 12 formed in the balance weight 5d with a bolt 8 and a nut 13. Thus, no need exists for a protruded portion from the balance weights 5c, 5d to reduce the size of the motor driven compressor. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
