摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knocking control system capable of more appropriately determining BGL to be used which is signal level of back ground noise used for detection of knocking than before and of more quickly avoiding knocking than before. SOLUTION: ECU of the knocking control system determines BGL to be used for each set of 100 BGL candidates calculated based on signal of vibration of an engine. The ECU performs equal variance statistical test and equal average statistical test of varianceσx, averageμx of BGL candidates of ten sets excluding one latest set from stored latest 11 sets, and varianceσy, averageμy of BGL candidates of the latest one sets. If variances and averages are equivalent, BGL to be used is updated based BGL candidates of the one latest set, and if variances and averages are not equivalent, BGL to be used is retained. The BGL candidates of the latest one set at a time of retention of BGL to be used are not used in equal variance statistical test and equal average statistical test after this.
