PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective fence of which the lateral beam can be easily attached to a strut without a rattle. SOLUTION: After inserting the end of the lateral beam 2 through an attachment hole 3 formed at the side of the strut 1, a wedge-shaped fixing member 6 is press-fitted between the end of the lateral beam 2 and the end edge of the attachment hole 3, and thus the lateral beam 2 is attached to the strut 1. By this, only by hammering the fixing member 6 between the end of the lateral beam 2 and the end edge of the attachment hole 3 by a blowing instrument, for example, a hammer or the like, the lateral beam 2 can be attached to the strut 1 without a rattle. Since the fixing member 6 can be attached to an inconspicuous position by press-fitting the fixing member 6 between the undersurface of the end of the lateral beam 2 and the lower end edge of the attachment hole 3, the fence it has a favorable appearance.
