(THIOPHENE/PHENYLENE) COOLIGOMER AND LIGHT-EMITTING MATERIAL CONTAINING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound which can relatively easily inject/transport electrons, and to provide a light-emitting material using the same. SOLUTION: The (thiophene/phenylene) cooligomer is represented by the general formula (1) [(n) is an integer of 3 to 8; (p) and (q) are each independently an integer of 1 to 6]. The light-emitting material contains the same. The method for producing the (thiophene/phenylene) cooligomer represented by the general formula (1) comprises reacting a compound represented by the general formula (2) [(m) is an integer of 0 to 8; (p) is an integer of 1 to 6; X1is a halogen atom] with an aromatic zinc compound represented by the general formula (3) [(n) is an integer of 3 to 8; (n)-(m) is an integer of≥0; (q) is an integer of 1 to 6; X2is a halogen atom] in the presence of a metal catalyst.
