PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of pulling out jammed sheets without damaging them. SOLUTION: A detection means 150A for detecting presence/absence of sheets stored in a sheet storage means comprises a rotatable arm part 15a abutting on the sheets stored in the sheet storage means, a stopper part 150b which is provided rotatably together with the arm part 150a and of which rotation is regulated when the sheet storage means has no sheets so as to position the arm part 150a when the sheet storage means has no sheets, and an elastic member 150c elastically connecting the arm part 150a to the stopper part 150b. When a sheet P within a carrying path is pulled out, the arm part 150a is retreated by pressing of the pulled-out sheet P from the position determined by the stopper part 150b while resisting the elastic member 150c.
