<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical compensation film having excellent optical compensation ability and small temperature humidity dependency of optical characteristics and a polarizer. <P>SOLUTION: The optical compensation film comprises at least a first optically anisotropic layer and a second optically anisotropic layer, the first optically anisotropic layer has an in-plane retardation of 0 to 10 nm and an in-thickness direction retardation of -400 to -80 nm, the second optically anisotropic layer has an in-plane retardation of 20 to 150 nm and an in-thickness direction retardation of 100 to 300 nm, In the optical compensation film, the second optically anisotropic layer includes a polymer layer containing at least one kind selected from polyether ketone, polyamide, polyester, polyimide, polyamide imide and polyester imide.
