PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the detection accuracy of an intruder by reducing false detections because of disturbance such as light and shadow. SOLUTION: The above problem is solved by the monitoring device comprising: a variation area extraction part 14 for extracting a variation area in image information by a background difference processing between a background image in a previously stored monitoring space and the image information; a human attribute value calculation part 24 for calculating the feature quantity of an object by performing image processing of the image information regarding the variation area; a disturbance attribute value calculation part 26 for calculating a degree of similarity between a texture of the image information acquired at first time and a texture of the image information acquired at second time in the variation area extracted from the image information acquired at the second time, and for calculating the feature quantity of the disturbance based on the degree of similarity; and a determination part 28 for determining a presence or absence of the object by comparing the feature quantity of the object and the feature quantity of the disturbance.
