PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact lens barrel or the like capable of storing a shake correction optical system while retreating the optical system from an optical axis. SOLUTION: The lens barrel 1 includes: a fixed part 16; a vibrating part 17 supported to be movable in a plane orthogonal to the optical axis A1 with respect to the fixed part; the shake correction optical system L3 supported by the vibrating part 17 so as to move following the vibrating part 17; retreat mechanism parts 4b and 19b for moving the shake correction optical system L3 relatively with the vibrating part 17 and moving the shake correction optical system L3 to a retreat position retreated from the optical axis A1; a shake correction driving part 18 that detects the position of the vibrating part 17 with respect to the fixed part 16, and that is arranged so that at least a part thereof in the direction of the optical axis A1 can be positioned in an overlapped state to the retreat mechanism parts 4b and 19b; and a position detecting part 27 that detects the position of the vibrating part 17 with respect to the fixed part 16, and that is arranged so that at least a part thereof in the direction of the optical axis A1 can be positioned in an overlapped state to the retreat mechanisms 4b and 19b and the shake correction driving part 18.
