PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AC generator for vehicle in which eddy current on the surface of a rotor can be reduced and deterioration of output can be suppressed. SOLUTION: The AC generator for vehicle comprises a rotor 2 having nail-like magnetic poles, and a stator disposed oppositely to the outer circumference of the rotor. A plurality of grooves 122 and 123 are formed at positions on the surface of the nail-like magnetic pole opposing the stator shifted to the rotary front side of the rotor 2. U-shaped groove of arcuate bottom or a rectangular groove of right-angle bottom can be contemplated as the shape of the grooves 122 and 123. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
