PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller bearing and an assembling method of a roller bearing, in which press-in force of a tapered bush can be constantly managed in a tapered bush pin-type retainer. SOLUTION: The roller bearing 10 comprises a plurality of rollers 12 disposed between an outer ring 11 and an inner ring 12, and the retainer 20 for retaining each roller at equal positions. The retainer comprises a pin 15 to be inserted to a through-hole 14 provided in the axial direction of the roller, first and second annular members 17 and 16 for supporting the roller at each end portion, and the tapered bush 18 to be pressed in between a tapered end portion 15b of the pin and the first annular member 17. The pin includes a protruding part 21 at the head of the tapered end portion, the protruding part having a side surface inclined so as to extend outwardly in the axial direction.
