An insulating sleeve 1 enclosing a cable splice 2 is sealed at each end by a flanged, tapered, grommet 5 which is bored and counter-bored to receive a flanged bushing 20 having substantially the same length as the grommet bore. The grommets and bushings may be made of soft insulating material such as neoprene or rubber and the diameter of the bore of each grommet is greater than that of the cable passing through it. Each grommet may have holes 13 fitted with removable plugs 15 to allow a branch 45 access to the splice. Wire 41 in tubes 42 having flattened ends 43 provides continuity of the cable armouring. |
