<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that a conventional walking aid is for a paralyzed leg and retains the toe at an angle walkable by a spring force, however, the elderly and a person with a slightly disabled leg feel a force constantly applied to the toe and discomfort. <P>SOLUTION: This walking aid comprises a heel component with a spring, a calf supporting component transmitting the movement of the calf muscle generated when raising the knee in walking, to the spring of the heel component, and a sole component working so that the force transmitted to the spring lifts the toe. This walking aid thus applies the force lifting the toe only when raising the foot and allows the elderly and the person with the slightly disabled leg to safely walk without stumbling over a minor obstacle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
