<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic wave-generating device capable of efficiently transmitting an ultrasonic wave and simultaneously realizing an ultrasonic wave-generating device having a high degree of freedom in the mounting pattern of the device. <P>SOLUTION: The ultrasonic wave-generating device is provided in which an ultrasonic wave can be generated by vibration of a solid body, since a predetermined periodic temperature change can be applied to a vibration body 14 disposed on a heating element 13 by the heating element 13 to make the vibration body 14 vibrate by repeating expansion/contraction corresponding to the temperature change so that an ultrasonic wave can be generated by vibration on a vibration surface of the vibration body 14. Even if water droplets or foreign particles adhere to the vibration surface of the vibration body 14, an ultrasonic wave-generation efficiency is never reduced.
