OBJECT-BASED DATA STORAGE DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object-based storage device which is more excellent than the conventional one and can cope with many storage needs.

SOLUTION: The data storage device (200) includes a storage medium (202) having many medium zone attributes of storage performance. The storage device (200) includes a data channel (218) which can be connected to a host system (220). The data channel (218) receives objects (222 and 224) having request storage attributes attached to the objects from the host system (220). The storage device (200) includes an object-based storage interface (216) connected between the data channel (218) and the storage medium (202). The storage interface (216) schedules the objects (222 and 224) so as to store the objects in a selected zone among many medium zones (204 to 212) on the basis of each attribute and request attributes.
