PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for determining over load loading on the track by detecting the pressure of air springs supporting the car body. SOLUTION: The car body 1 of a railcar is supported on the track 31 (32) through the air springs 21 and 22 (23 and 24), wherein the air pressures P1 and P2 (P3 and P4) of the air springs 21 and 22 (23 and 24) on a track 31 (32) are measured by the air-electric converters 41 and 42 (43 and 44), and averaged with arithmetic processor 5 if this averaged value exceeds the set value, the over load is determined and the over load signal is output.
