PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rotating electric machine reduced in vibration and noise and low in price. SOLUTION: The rotating electric machine 10 comprises a first bearing 20 that is press-fit into a case 24 fixed to a housing 26, and a rotor 14 pivoted by a second bearing 22 that is press-fit into the housing 26. When assembling the rotating electric machine 10, the rotor 14 is preset by only a distance X1 and held by being pressed toward the direction of an arrow A1 with the housing 26 as a reference. The case 24 heated at a prescribed temperature is attached to the housing from the first bearing 20 side, and fixed to the housing 26 while pressing down the case 24 in the direction of an arrow A2. The case 24 is contracted in the radial direction, and shrink-fit and fixed to an outer ring 20a, and the outer ring 20a is displaced toward the direction of the arrow A2 by axially being contracted by an amount ofΔt.
