PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably execute an inter-layer jump to an optional recording layer in an optical disk having a plurality of recording layers, wherein inter-layer distances are not constant in particular. SOLUTION: In the optical disk having three recording layers or more, wherein inter-layer distances between respective recording layers are not uniform, when inter-layer jumps from a first recording layer to a second recording layer, a distance between the recording layers is calculated, a driving voltage applied to an actuator for the inter-layer jump is set in accordance with the calculated distance, and the inter-layer jump is executed. At that time, the distance between the respective recording layers and the driving voltage to be applied are stored beforehand in a memory with respect to a combination of the recording layers to be jumped, and a corresponding driving voltage is read from the memory and set.
