PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotator for a steel pipe pile which has durability without making a member for use deformed and worn out by an applied force when the steel pipe pile is driven, and improving working efficiency by greatly reducing the possibility that the steel pipe pile may fall even if the steel pipe pile is lifted. SOLUTION: This rotator 1 for the steel pipe pile comprises a socket 3 and a chuck 4. The socket 3 with a cylindrical outer shape equipped with an outward protruding claw 11 comprises: an engaging plate 8 fixed to the outer periphery of the base end 2a of the steel pipe pile 2; and an approximately L-shaped plate 7 to be engaged which has an inside diameter large enough to insert the base end 2a into the side of one end, and in which a rotation inhibiting wall 5 capable of inhibiting the normal rotation of the engaging plate 8, and a placing step 6 engaged with the undersurface of the engaging plate 8 are provided inside one end. The chuck 4 the other end of which is connected to a rotating shaft of a pile driver 50 comprises: a vertical groove 12 for guiding the claw 11 of the socket 3 from one end to the other end; a horizontal groove 13 formed in the vertical groove 12 so as to circumferentially guide the claw 11; and a locking step 14 which forms the horizontal groove 13 so as to lock the claw 11.
