摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydride of a norbornene polymer whose light transmittance is hardly diminished by increased irradiation of a blue laser light at a wavelength of around 400 nm, which is capable of yielding a molded product having a low birefringence property and a high light transmittance. SOLUTION: The hydride of the addition polymer having a number average molecular weight of 15,000 or larger is obtained by performing addition polymerization of a norbornene monomer (A) having an aromatic ring, such as 1,4-methano-1,4,4a, 9a-tetrahydrofluorene, and a 2-20Cα-olefin (B), such as ethylene, and hydrogenating the aromatic ring until the hydrogenation ratio reaches 99% or higher, peaks at 122-128 ppm and 142-148 ppm in<SP>13</SP>C-NMR spectrum measured in deuterated chloroform (using TMS as a standard) disappear and peak area (C) at 50.5-53 ppm and peak area (D) at 55-56.5 ppm satisfy the relation: C/(C+D)≥0.80.
