PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light control material having high light-control capability and small power consumption. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal composition comprises at least one or more smectic liquid crystals capable of being driven by 2 frequencies and at least one polymer material. There are also provided a liquid crystal element comprising the liquid crystal composition, a liquid crystal display element and a light control material comprising the liquid crystal element, and a display method.
