MAGNETICALLY CONNECTED COUPLING ASSEMBLY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor coupling assembly equipped with a coupling ring connected for a mower cutting unit using magnetic action. SOLUTION: The coupling ring 10 includes a coupling face in which female ramp elements are created. Magnets 20-26 are arranged around a coupling face each including a face positioned substantially coplanar with the coupling face. A ring member connected to a motor 12 includes a ring face 28 having male ramp elements equal in quantity to the female ramp elements and extends toward outward to engage with inside of the female ramp elements. The ring face 28 is held in contact with the coupling face solely with magnetic force of the magnets 20-26. The ring member is rotatively locked to the coupling ring 10 by complete engagement of the male ramp elements within the female ramp elements. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
