PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod equipped with a grip part giving a good grip feeling. SOLUTION: This fishing rod is equipped with a grip part 5 formed by covering a covering member 8 over a large diameter part at the rear end of the hand rod 2 and an end plug 10 attached to the rear end of the grip part 5. The rear end part 5 has a rear end surface part 5b, and the end plug 10 is formed as having an outer diameter which is the same as or smaller than that of the rear end part P of the grip part 5, and also has a contacting part making a contact partially with the rear end surface part 5b.
