FAILURE INFORMATION MANAGEMENT METHOD, DETECTION METHOD AND APPARATUS, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

A failure information management method for managing failure information on a replaceable part included in an electronic apparatus comprises; a step of generating an error log composed of a representative log information section containing the identification information and failure type of a replacement-recommended part recommended to be replaced according to an analysis of a failure occurred in the part and a detailed log information section containing the apparatus environment information of the replacement-recommended part at the time of failure; and a step of storing the error log into a nonvolatile memory included in the replacement-recommended part itself. The error log is generated by nonoverwritably recording first-generation information into the representative log information section and the detailed log information section for the first failure which has occurred in a replacement-recommended part, and overwritably recording second-generation information into the representative log information section and the detailed log information section for the second and later failures.
