OPTICAL RECORDER/REPRODUCER, OPTICAL RECORDING METHOD, AND OPTICAL REPRODUCING METHOD

An optical recorder/reproducer in which a decision can be made easily whether surface temperature of a collinear optical recording medium capable of high multiplex recording has deviated from a predetermined temperature range or not during recording operation and reproducing operation, and excellent reproduction is ensured free from deviation or distortion of an image during recording operation and reproducing operation, and to provide an optical recording method and an optical reproducing method. The optical recorder/reproducer comprises at least any one of a warning means for notifying an optical recording medium equipped with a layer for recording information by utilizing holography that the surface temperature of the optical recording medium has deviated from an allowable temperature range with respect to a reference temperature when any one of recording operation or reproducing operation is performed, and a means for indicating that at least any one of recording operation and reproducing operation is stopped when the surface temperature of the optical recording medium has deviated from an allowable temperature range with respect to the reference temperature and then stopping the recording function and reproducing function. A mode of optical recording method and optical reproducing method is preferably employed.
