[Also in Division B8] An endless chain conveyer for use in producing ceramic moulds has a number of parallel chain sections 1-6 each with its own driver sprocket 7 and several free-running sprockets 10. The sprockets 7 are mounted on a common driving shaft 8 and a tensioner 9 is provided for each section. Supports 17 for the moulds are located on rotatable hangers 16 which are connected to the chain by brackets and axles 14, 15. The horizontal parts of the conveyer sections 1-6 have guides 24 which cause the hangers 16 to be lowered into a bath 25 and then to be guided into a sprinkling zone C. A guide 23 then causes the hangers to return to a horizontal position. The hangers, while they are in engagement with the guides 23, 24, are also rotated due to contact between a roller 22 and the guides. Fig. 5 represents a process line for the manufacture of ceramic moulds. At D a pattern block is assembled on a hanger (not shown) for delivery to the first of a number of block coating and sand sprinkling positions A. The blocks pass through a drying chamber 27 having compartments 28-30 for air drying, drying in ammonia, and ventilation. After further similar sequences, the blocks are conveyed to position E, where the pattern compound is melted out of the ceramic block which is manually removed. |
