<p>A packing machine designed more especially for packing medicinal tablets in deep drawn recesses or cups in a thermoplastic strip and sealing these in position with a thin metal foil, e.g. of aluminium or tin-coated paper at a welding station, the special feature of which is that the film strip advances intermittently and is held in the stationary position by the clamping action of a number of (three) clamps consisting of transverse members above and below the strip and able to be moved to and from each other under the action of pneumatic actuators operated by cams fixed on the main drive shaft which extends along the machine parallel to the direction of motion of the strip.</p> |
