A buckle comprises interfitting male and female elements 6, 11, secured by a sliding bolt 12 under pressure of spring 125 and controlled by pins 18, 19 engaging notches 18a, 19a in a cover plate 14. The pins 18, 19 are biassed into their respective notches by springs 24, 25 on transverse pins 22, 23, but are released by manual opposite movement of thumb-plates 16, 17. These plates are linked by interengaging teeth 16a, 16b to prevent release by movement of one only. The buckle may be released by explosive means 50, 51. |
