1,111,813. Forage harvesters. DEERE & CO. 15 April, 1966 [15 April, 1965], No. 16610/66. Heading A1F. In a forage-harvester, including a discharge spout adjustable about a substanstially vertical axis and a deflector cap at the end of the spout adjustable about a horizontal axis, both adjustments are effected by the movement of a single control shaft, rotation of the shaft rotating the spout and axial movement of the shaft causing adjustment of the cap. The shaft 86 is slidable freely within a tube 92 to which it is keyed, the tube being integral with a worm 102 engaging a gear-ring 64 on the spout 32. Two collars 104, 106 on the shaft 86 embrace a pin 116 upstanding from a lever 110 pivoted to a fixed bracket 76 on the machine frame, the lever being linked to the deflector cap by a cable 118. The cap is spring-loaded in one direction and the pivot 111 of the lever 110 is associated with washers 112 for frictionally resisting pivotal movement of the lever. The shaft 86 is universally jointed at 108 to an extension accessible to the driver of the propelling tractor (not shown). |
