摘要 In a device that reproduces sounds, which are to be presented to listeners, from sound electric signals received from a sender, such as a television, radio, mobile telephone or the like, or from sound electric signals recorded on a sound information recording medium, even if the loudness level is so established beforehand by the listeners as to allow them to easily listen to the reproduced sounds, the loudness level, which is actually perceived by the listeners, i.e., the sensuous loudness level may be unstable due to the original loudness levels or types included in sound electric signals. The present invention relates to a loudness level adjusting method and the like for allowing the sensuous loudness level to be adjusted such that it always becomes generally stable regardless of any original loudness levels or types. In order to adjust the loudness level of a sound electric signal to be reproduced, an electronic circuit is provided in a stage preceding a speaker or the like that converts the sound electric signal to sound waves that are audible to human ears. This electronic circuit uses a frequency dividing device, a RMS value extracting device and the like to extract, as an alternating current component of the sound electric signal, at least one element information signal. The electronic circuit has a sensuous loudness level signal generating device, which includes a smoothing device, a weighting device and the like, for generating a sensuous loudness level signal from the element information signal, and further has a loudness level control device for automatically adjusting the loudness level such that any level of sounds received from the sender always becomes an easy-to-listen loudness level established by the listeners.
