The embodiments of the present invention disclose a method and system for authenticating User Equipment (UE) includes: initiating by an Early IMS UE an access request containing a user identity to an application service entity; acquiring by the application service entity binding information containing an IP address from a Home Subscriber Server (HSS) according to the access request; authenticating by the application service entity the Early IMS UE according to the binding information and the access request. The embodiments of the present invention make it possible to authenticate the UE accessing the application service entity, which ensures not only the access of the legal UE but also the security of the network.
