A high-definition optical recording medium is provided to reproduce recording pits which are below diffraction limits as sufficiently suppressing noise of a reproduction signal after recording the signal, and to obtain sufficient recording sensitivity while a reflectivity change before and after recording sufficiently gets larger. A substrate(10) is equipped. An information recording layer(30) is located on the substrate(10), and consists of a recording layer(31), which contains Ge and has metal selected among Ag, Au, W, Mn, Pt, Ti, Zr, V, Cr, Fe, Co, Ni, Pd, Sb, Ta, Al, In, Cu, Sn, Te, Zn, and Bi, a reproduction layer(32) composed of a material indicative of a high-definition phenomenon, and the first dielectric layer(33) located between the recording layer(31) and the reproduction layer(32). An optical transmission layer(40) is located on the information recording layer(30). |
